MENASHA, WI (February 9, 2017) – Network Health has been selected as one of only six health insurance plans chosen to support a newly proposed self-funded insurance model for the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds.

Tuesday, February 8, the Group Insurance Board voted to authorize the department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) to transition its insurance services to a self-funded model. The proposal identifies six health insurance plans selected to administer services in four distinct regions. Network Health has been selected to serve the eastern region.

ETF currently provides health insurance to state and local government employees and their dependents through a fully-insured structure. The proposal, which was also included in Governor Walker’s 2017-2019 budget, must be approved by the legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance before implementation.

“Network Health has provided high quality health insurance services to ETF members for more than 30 years,” said Coreen Dicus-Johnson, Network Health president and CEO. “Should the Joint Committee on Finance approve the Group Insurance Board’s proposed changes, Network Health will continue to offer the same access to high quality health care providers and exceptional customer service that our members have come to know and rely on.”
