Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP)
Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) is an insurance product that acts like traditional health plans, but has additional advantages. CDHP has deductibles, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximum and in-network benefits/out-of-network benefits. The added benefit is the Family Wellness Account (FWA). An FWA is an employer-funded account that is applied toward a member’s deductible. This account contains a pre-determined annual amount of tax-free dollars. Unused dollars can be rolled over from year to year.
