MENASHA, Wis. – Network Health Plan, for the third consecutive year, has been rated one of the best health plans in the nation in terms of customer satisfaction and clinical performance.
According to the 2007 America’s Best Health Plan listing released today by U.S. News & World Report/National Committee for Quality Assurance, Network Health Plan ranks 37th among the 250 rated plans in the nation, up from its 41st ranking in 2006.
The rankings are based on clinical performance, member satisfaction and NCQA accreditation. Specifically, health plans are ranked in four key categories:
- Access to care, which includes consumer experience with getting needed care.
- Overall consumer satisfaction.
- Prevention, which includes how often preventive services are provided.
- Treatment, which includes how well health plans take care of people who have health problems.
“Our continued high ranking is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire staff, including the Affinity physicians and clinical staff,” said Sheila Jenkins, president of Network Health Plan. “The quality of care and customer service we provide to our members is evidenced by our ranking.”
Network Health Plan, based in Menasha, is a regional health care organization that provides services to 75,000 members of 1,400 employer groups throughout Northeast Wisconsin. “I think the fact that we are a local company gives us the edge in terms of overall consumer satisfaction,” Jenkins said. “We care so much about our customers because we are living here with them. We’re neighbors.”
The top 50 commercial, top 25 Medicare and top 25 Medicaid plans will be listed in the Nov. 5 U.S. News & World Report. The rankings of all health plans will be available online at www.usnews.com.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations, and provides health care quality information free of charge through the Web and media in order to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.
