Affinity Urgent Care expands

Service enhancements, extended hours meet community's needs

MENASHA, Wis. – Did you break your finger playing basketball? Does your child have a fever that is getting worse rather than better? Do you finally believe the cold you’ve been suffering with for days is really the flu?

Now that you’ve determined you need to see a doctor immediately but can’t get an appointment until three days from now, what are you going to do? Affinity Health System’s Urgent Care clinics are your answer.

Two Urgent Care clinics, located at the Affinity Medical Group clinics at 3329 N. Richmond St., Appleton and 1855 S. Koeller St., Oshkosh, have been redesigned after consulting with patients. The new Urgent Care clinics offer extended hours and a dedicated medical staff to meet patient needs. Appointments are not necessary.

Both clinics are open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to noon on weekends and holidays, except for Christmas.

“The Affinity Urgent Care clinics are the only ones in the Valley that are open seven days a week and provide treatment exclusively by board-certified physicians,” said Dr. Rik Emaus, interim chief medical officer for Affinity Health System. “Affinity promises to offer patients the highest quality, most convenient walk-in care in the Valley.”

How do you know when you should go to an Affinity Urgent Care clinic instead of the hospital emergency department? “Serious injuries, breathing issues, significant bleeding, stroke symptoms like one-sided numbness or speech problems and chest pains all require immediate emergency treatment,” Emaus said.

Urgent Care is available for people who have minor fractures, sprains, cold & flu symptoms, or other health care concerns that they believe need immediate attention.
