Will dependents who are away at college have any coverage if they get sick or injured?
Yes, while they are out of the service area they are covered for the initial onset of an illness or injury at an urgent care or emergency room facility. Follow-up care after an urgent care or emergency room visit, out of the service area is not covered unless it is coordinated by your PCP and authorized by NHP. Dependent students in the NHP service area are required to seek non-emergent services from a plan provider.
