Network Health Rated Among Top Health Plans

Network Health ranks in NCQA's top 50 plans in the U.S.

Menasha, Wis. - Network Health has again earned national recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and is listed in the 2010-11 Top Private Health Insurance Plans*. Network Health Plan has been listed in the Top 50 since 2005**.

"We are pleased to once again be named one of the top health plans in the nation," said Sheila Jenkins, president of Network Health. "Network Health is committed to providing quality plans to the Fox Valley community and this ranking reaffirms that commitment."

NCQA is an independent, non-profit organization that assesses and reports on the quality of the nation's managed care plans. NCQA evaluated more than 300 private health plans and ranked 227 of those based on clinical performance, member satisfaction, and NCQA Accreditation. The rankings are based on clinical performance, member satisfaction and NCQA Accreditation.

In the 2010-2011 report***, Network Health scored in the top quarter (25 percent) of plans in the following areas:

Preventive Care:

  • Screening women for cervical cancer
  • Making sure children receive appropriate medications by age 2
  • Giving a strep test before prescribing antibiotics to children with a sore throat
  • Screening women for breast cancer

Chronic Care:

  • Making sure members with cardiovascular conditions are appropriately screened for cholesterol and have their cholesterol under control
  • Making sure members with diabetes have their sugar level tested and having their blood pressure under control
  • Making sure members with rheumatoid arthritis are on appropriate medication
  • Making sure members with diabetes have their eyes and kidneys examined and have their cholesterol screen and under control

Member Satisfaction:

  • Handling claims quickly and accurately
  • Getting information and help when members need it and providing customer service by treating members with courtesy and respect
  • Providing information on the cost of care
  • Having doctors who listen carefully to patients
  • Ease getting an appointment with a specialist
